The General Membership of the HWRHA voted to close down the club, effective January 10, 2009. Two other clubs are active in the Texas area.
They are the original Lone Star Gaited Pleasure Horse Association (LSGPHA) and Southwest Walking Horse Breeders Association (SWHBA).
